OGUSA Donates to Local Charities in New York and Houston for COVID-19 Relief
May 15 2020
In response to local need, OGUSA donated (total $40,000) to the Westchester Food Bank, the White Plains Hospital, and the Houston Food Bank.
OGUSA has a long standing relationship with the Westchester Food Bank in NY as our staff has volunteered at their Elmsford, NY location several times. During this time of extreme need the Food Bank distributed more than 1.4 million pounds of food in March, about a 77% increase from 2019.
The White Plains Hospital is located less than ½ mile from our New York office and has been serving the local community during the COVID-19 emergency. OGUSA’s donation to the hospital will be used for expanding the ICU as well as purchasing much needed PPE and disinfectants.
Houston Food Bank has been increasing distribution from an average of 480,000 lbs per day to an average of 800,000 lbs daily as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. They have about 400 partners feeding the communities in Houston and surrounding areas. Houston Food Bank is solely counting on donations from local businesses and individuals. Every $10 donation can provide 30 meals.
OGUSA is committed to supporting local communities. We hope everyone stays safe and healthy during this challenging time.
