Marianas Energy Company gets the extension of the Energy Conversion Agreement with Guam Power Authority

  November    07     2018

Marianas Energy Company (MEC) is a 100% fully-owned subsidiary of Osaka Gas USA and operates Piti 8 & 9 Power Plant in Guam. The power project contains two slow speed diesel units providing 88MW of production capacity, which is approximately 40% of Guam Power Authority (GPA)’s total baseload capacity.

MEC is Guam’s leading power generation company in terms of consistent operational efficiency and reliability. GPA therefore proposes that it enter into a 5-year contract extension with MEC for its continued management and operation of the power plant beyond January 2019. GPA and MEC have mutually agreed to a negotiated 5-year extension of the contract.
